The Role:

Bloomberg is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our Global Payroll team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide variety of payroll activities, including ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of our international payroll processes. The candidate will assume responsibility for coordination and communication of our vendor schedules with both our external vendors and internal team members and partners; loading, reconciling and auditing of monthly payroll data; coordinating and troubleshooting global general ledger processing; loading and extracting data to/from PeopleSoft; coordinating the processing of relocation expenses and partnering with our global teams for the development and maintenance of departmental global documentation. The position requires a highly organized, detailed, responsive and flexible candidate that has the ability to handle multiple projects while producing accurate and timely results.


  • Responsible for the coordination of global payroll processing with our third party payroll vendors
  • Coordinate the resolution of data issues between the HR Workday system and the PeopleSoft payroll system
  • Prepare Proofs, audits and reconciliations of our payroll data
  • Produce, balance, troubleshoot and develop our general ledger processing in conjunction with our accounting team
  • Assist in the coordination of year-end processing, including our incentive compensation process
  • Review and audit of data processed by other team members
  • Respond to employee and inter-departmental inquiries
  • Develop and maintain departmental documentation
  • Peoplesoft Payroll System Table Maintenance
  • Loading and proving that international pay slips are available for employees to view on our employee portal
  • System Testing


  • A minimum of three years relative payroll experience
  • Experience using PeopleSoft, including PS Query
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll practices, auditing and procedures
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to research and resolve complex inquiries, seek solutions and follow through on complex tasks
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work closely within a global team
