What's the Role?

As a GPS team leader in New York you will lead a team of HR professionals responsible for delivering end to end HR processes to all Bloomberg employees in the United States, Canada and Latin America, including onboarding, employee life-cycle events and off-boarding. Exhibiting an "all hands on deck" attitude, you'll support our employees through taking inquiries while also acting as a point of escalation for team members. This is a "player/manager" role where you lead by example and strive for the team to provide the exceptional customer service that Bloomberg is renowned for. As a Team Leader, you're responsible for hiring, on-boarding, evaluation, continued development and career pathing of your team.
Reporting to the Global Head of the department, you will take a lead on helping to identify opportunities to enhance the impact we make on Bloomberg employees and helping to implement change throughout our GPS organization. You'll regularly partner other with HR leaders to ensure the team handles appropriate consultation to employees on topics that cover a full range of HR-related policies, including relocations, flexible work arrangements and leaves of absence.

We'll trust you to:

  • Drive forward excellence in quality and customer service for Bloomberg employees
  • Empower your team to innovate and challenge traditional thinking on how to best tackle client issues
  • Use data analysis to ensure your team is working effectively and that appropriate quality standards are met as well as implementing new and innovative ways to track team performance, resourcing, efficiencies and streamlining
  • Suggest additional ideas for drivers and removing obstacles in our delivery
  • Foster an environment of teamwork and collaboration across regions and departments
  • Create scheduling models for guaranteed coverage while ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Develop, lead and motivate the team through tailored coaching; influence them to use judgment, take action and accountability for their work
  • Build strong cross-functional meaningful partnerships with HR partners and our businesses
  • Be a resource center and point of escalation for team members
  • Act as a subject matter expert - assisting guidelines, trainings, best practices relating to changes in policies or procedures, projects, software enhancements, etc
  • Drive business critical projects in Global People Services such as mitigating risk, running scheduled audits, quality control etc
  • Handle sensitive data with discretion

You'll need to have:

  • Solid HR or customer service experience; ideally in a leadership role
  • Good judgment on a range of people issues and the confidence to influence employees and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated people management and change management skills
  • Extraordinary level of customer service
  • Extensive people and stakeholder/relationship management experience in a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience working with enterprise HR systems- ideally Workday
  • Knowledge of HR policies, procedures and best practices particularly in a central service-delivery model
  • Ability to multi-task with strong organizational and analytical skills necessary
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
