In Bloomberg's Global Data division, our technology drives our business. The tools we create and the software we design will allow us to meet the evolving data needs of our clients and enable us to drive our products.

We are looking for talented individuals that possess a unique combination of business acumen, technical skills, domain knowledge as well as strong entrepreneurial and interpersonal skills in order to provide technical business analysis and implementation across our global data teams.

Bloomberg has launched a new product dedicated to managing Investor Relations professionals' institutional contacts, planning IR events, and storing notes on the terminal about their meetings with investors, analysts and others (“Investor Relationship Management” functionality). IRM enables IR professionals to analyze the effectiveness of their interactions with third parties and alerts them to key developments that the C-Suite needs to be aware of.

Through process analysis you will discover opportunities, define requirements, leverage cutting edge project management techniques, and lead the development and implementation utilizing technologies such as SQL and Python.

  • Perform data mining and process mapping to identify opportunities for automation, product creation, quality improvements or reducing time to market
  • Effectively communicate research findings, project progress and success to stakeholders in compelling, creative, and accessible ways
  • You’ll work to design, plan, and develop processes to optimally extract, transform and load data between data sources.
  • Development of data standards, policies and procedures, as well as the establishment and maintenance of standards for data quality.
  • With your team, you’ll ensure that data is clean, consistent, and synchronized across platforms as you oversee the design and implementation of data cleansing procedures.
  • You’ll work across various business units to identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and their teams to understand their technology needs and translate them into requirements for developers.
  • You’ll work to develop data quality metrics for identifying data related issues.
  • Design prototypes to illustrate and refine requirements
  • Provide training, marketing and guidance to team members and partners

You'll need to have:

  • Undergraduate degree in business or technology, minor in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred
  • 2 – 3 years of professional experience leveraging advanced data analysis skills
  • Experience working with NoSQL Databases and Data Modeling
  • Demonstrated project/work experience using one or more programming language (e.g. Python, JavaScript, SQL, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of data mining, data modeling, data visualization, and ETL preferred
  • Working knowledge of process engineering, data mining, data modeling, software design, and ETL preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and high degree of demonstrated decision-making and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in constantly changing and often stressful environment
  • Demonstrated ability to construct professional looking reports and presentations
  • Ability to build partnerships across an organization and interface and facilitate interactions with engineering and business counterparts
