What's Bloomberg KYC?

Know Your Customer (KYC) is a prerequisite for doing business in the financial markets. While the requirements imposed for KYC are commonly seen as painful, inefficient and unsustainable, the cost of delays and regulatory breaches can result in significant fines and opportunity cost.

Many have wondered if data and technology could be used to reduce the pain, the costs or the risk. Or better yet – to help firms improve their bottom line by pursuing opportunities faster, achieving scale or growing relationships?
The answer is yes.

Launched in 2015, KYC is a new startup business within Enterprise Solutions leveraging Bloomberg's core strengths to help clients reduce time-to-trade, allowing them to make more money faster, and to manage their KYC responsibilities with lower operating costs and greater due diligence.

The role:

As a Product Manager for KYC you will help drive the direction and development of a new innovative regulatory product that will change how financial counterparties interact. You’ll be skilled in identifying market opportunities, and in driving the direction of our solutions. Ultimately you will engage existing and prospective clients to better serve their needs by understanding their problems, building working solutions and selling the product to grow product adoption and total sales revenue. Working within a close knit team of seasoned industry professionals, you’ll work collaboratively on the design, build and delivery of our solutions.

We'll trust you to:

• Identify viable business opportunities and develop innovative product solutions by working closely with Bloomberg's Engineers and UX Designers
• Meet with clients to understand their needs and obtain feedback to drive product adoption
• Evolve and communicate the product vision
• Educate external and internal clients about our mission and key milestones along the way
• Utilize your expertise to prioritize product development initiatives
• Translate high-level feature sets into detailed product requirements for development
• Coordinate product releases with the development, marketing, sales and service teams

You’ll need to have:

• 3+ years Product Management experience in Agile software development
• 7 or more years of product management experience in regulatory compliance or financial technology
• Experience building multi-product enterprise solutions
• Strong knowledge of financial markets
• Act as subject matter expert for appropriate product related enquiries
• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills

We’d love to see:

• Existing relationships on the buy and sell side
• Knowledge of regulatory landscape including newly proposed/ pending regulations
