Bloomberg Media is searching for a Marketing Manager - Subscriber Retention to join our Consumer Marketing department. In this role you will handle the planning, implementation and evaluation of traditional and digital marketing campaigns for the renewal, billing, gift, and agency businesses of Bloomberg LP media properties including primarily Bloomberg Business Week, but also Bloomberg Markets and Bloomberg Briefs. This person will also help be an innovative, data-driven marketer who has shown experience in planning, executing & analyzing successful retention programs for the magazine subscription businesses. You will be able to:

  • Optimize response rates through the execution of creative and impact retention marketing & gift campaigns for Bloomberg Business Week & Bloomberg Briefs.
  • Develop, implement and analyze test plans to improve retention rates in new and digital subscribers.
  • Forecast, order and run inventory of print renewal, billing and gift campaign components.
  • Develop and maintain campaign level & lifetime value reporting for renewals, billing and gift businesses.
  • Complete monthly global production and expense forecasts. Find opportunities and risks to senior management team
  • Work with manager on development of annual worldwide production and expense budget.
  • Key critical initiatives include: conversion to automatic renewal, digital subscription migration and increasing credit card usage.
  • Build key relationships and work closely with a wide range of groups in the company to build, align and create programs that impact subscribers including:
  • Consumer marketing managers to understand and address overall circulation strategies and priorities
  • Fulfillment operations teams to coordinate the execution of outbound subscriber campaigns and offers
  • Consumer marketing finance and planning to coordinate and refine expense & retention reporting
  • Internal Bloomberg departments that require expertise in the area of retention marketing

Ideal background would be:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years of recent and relevant experience in a retention/acquisition marketing function for a magazine subscription business.
  • Consistent track record of success with subscription retention marketing
  • Strong analytical skills; data-driven with demonstrated ability to demonstrate facts, financial analysis, and insights to evaluate strategic options and recommend course of action
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong project management skills and experience and the ability to work well in a busy environment and execute efficiently against daring deadlines and changing business dynamics
  • Strong knowledge of Excel; strong organizational abilities; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to think creatively and question the status quo, and handle time effectively
  • Knowledge of CDS React reporting and key structure is strongly preferred
