What is the role?

We are looking for a motivated self-starter to join Product Data Science in Enterprise Data. The person in this role will have opportunity to closely interact and work with various stakeholders to be the gatekeeper and ensure the highest quality for product development, launch and enhancement. You will use your quantitative skills, knowledge of statistical models and programming skills to conduct model and data analysis for our most innovative products. This includes but not limited to Bloomberg ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) products, Risk & Investment Analytics products, and Bloomberg Data License products.  

Bloomberg ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) products: Bloomberg build machine learning model which produce Greenhouse Gas emission, water estimation for more than 50,000 companies globally. GHG estimates takes comprehensive model input data and leverages a deep pool of expertise in building machine learning models.

Bloomberg Risk & Investment Analytics (RIA) products: Bloomberg RIA product provide investors with quantitative tools to estimate liquidity risk (Liquidity Assessment or LQA), credit risk (Market implied probability of default or MIPD) , fund risk, climate risk and etc.  The model leverages various input data source like trade data, pricing data, reference data and ect.

Bloomberg Data License Bulk products:  Data License is the technology that delivers Bloomberg’s data content sets, providing reference, pricing and regulatory data across your enterprise and feeding accounting, portfolio management and compliance systems. Bulk products currently cover more than 7000 datasets with over 50 million securities. Data License is built using the latest data science tools and methods, including Tidy Data principles.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Perform data analysis on a large scale of datasets
  • Prepare exploratory data analysis including statistical and visual summaries
  • Assess machine learning model performance, identify model weakness and propose potential model performance enhancements
  • Monitor model stability/performance
  • Communicate results to product managers, quantitative researchers and software developers
  • Collaborate with product, engineering and sales teams on product delivery, task prioritization and product roadmap
  • Answer client questions and address client feedback in product enhancements/bugfixes
  • Conduct product usage analysis to improve data product offerings
  • Contribute to scaling team activities through automation

You’ll need to have:

  • Advanced degree in quantitative discipline (financial engineering, statistics, computer science, finance, engineering, etc)
  • 3 or more years in analytical fields such as data science, quantitative analysis, model validation, data mining
  • Intermediate to Professional programming skills in Python and SQL
  • Solid statistics and mathematical knowledge to perform quantitative analysis
  • Track record of gathering, matching, and pre-processing large data sets from varied sources and of different characteristics
  • The ability to show special attention to data integrity
  • Strong communication skills both written and spoken
