The Workplace Operations and Supply Chain Vendor Management team is engaged in supporting all activities related to vendor partnerships across the various functional units. The Product Owner for this team will lead the global development, implementation and maintenance for our vendor management strategy, technology and operations using industry trends and methodologies.

What's the Role?

This role requires fresh thinking and the ability to design and deliver scalable sustainable vendor management solutions across all areas of Bloomberg Workplace Operations & Supply Chain.

You will bring your creative thought, knowledge of external trends, and innovation to develop Workplace Ops & Supply Chain's vendor management processes and end-to-end programs, ensuring a state of the art strategy that blends vendor performance with business alignment. You have outstanding interpersonal skills to partner with senior executives on the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of a strategic vendor management plan for all business lines and categories within Workplace Ops & Supply Chain. You have a strong sense of governance, and challenge the status quo to drive expanded outcomes and enterprise-wide engagement with internal functions, Procurement, Sourcing, and CRCO groups.

We will trust you to:

  • Assess and analyze the current vendor management processes; design, develop and implement strategies to improve process efficiency.
  • Lead implementation of vendor performance reporting to analyze performance data and build meticulous tracking of return on vendor effectiveness.
  • Establish strong working relationships to influence strategy, development modifications and the elimination of vendor programs not aligned to business imperatives.
  • Design and operationalize governance to vendor onboarding and off boarding requirements
  • Build a governance and controls framework to ensure vendor management and procurement policy adherence from “procure to pay”
  • Operate to the highest standards of accountability; “hands-on” approach: with the ability to drive change while maintaining operating effectiveness.
  • Leverage a data driven approach to monitor results, tackle problems directly and promote solutions.
  • Cultivate an active network of relationships to drive alignment across internal functions and business units and facilitate collaboration across departmental boundaries.
  • Continuously stay up-to-date on applicable laws and regulations and develop evolved policies and procedures as needed.

We'd love to see:

  • An innovator comfortable with the delicate balance of bold visioning, intelligent strategy, and sophisticated execution.
  • An adaptable problem-solver who is impatient with the status quo, seeks to make things better and more efficient and isn't afraid to make bold decisions in ambiguity.
  • A hands-on leader who builds transparency, values collaboration, holds self and team accountable, and can link what we do and why we do it to empower the team around them to think beyond specific tasks, understand the ultimate goal, and drive value for the business.

You'll need to have:

  • At least 5 years of demonstrated experience supporting procurement, sourcing and vendor partnerships with previous leadership experience highly preferred.
  • Proven success at communicating, prioritizing and balancing needs cross-functionally.
  • Strong analytical abilities with passion for data and evidence based decision-making
  • Ability to build positive relationships across functions within a large organization.
  • Experience creating governance-focused business processes/workflows from early vision into launch.
  • Successful candidates will combine rigorous business acumen with process design, workflow optimization, product development and operations.
  • Ability to combine human stories and needs with hard data to identify a compelling path forward for product, service and venture creation.
  • Ability to work in diverse work cultures and comfortable with non-hierarchical organizations.
