The Engineering News Applications team builds the apps that Bloomberg Terminal clients use to know what is going on in the world markets on real-time basis. The biggest players in finance rely on our applications to get the news they need to know as they need to know it. Our applications leverage our powerful search, real-time monitoring, and personalization features to provide the best possible experience for our clients. Our news apps are some of the most used applications on the terminal, catering to millions of service requests per day. Our users rely on them because of their real-time performance and seamless integration with other financial applications on the terminal.

As the next addition to our talented team, you’ll get the opportunity to work on the full stack to design & implement News Applications to enrich user experience and provide better workflow integration. Our services are required to handle large volumes of requests and have to guarantee low latency and high throughput. We will expect you to use your creativity to visualize simple yet efficient User Interfaces and implement multi-tier solutions keeping scalability and throughput in view.

You’ll need to have:

• 4+ years of experience in software design and development
• Strong C++ skills including multi-threading and use of STL containers
• Strong Computer Science fundamentals (algorithms and data structures) and problem solving abilities.

We’d love to see:

• Basic knowledge of JavaScript and SQL
• A quick learner who can think out of the box
• Strong communication skills
