The Enterprise Trading Platform (ETP) team designs, develops and maintains the infrastructure that supports Bloomberg's innovative Enterprise Order Management Systems (OMS). Bloomberg’s OMS offerings include TOMS, the top-tier Sell-Side broker-dealer system, and AIM, the leading Buy-Side system supporting institutional asset managers, asset owners, and hedge-funds.
As a platform engineering team, our mission is to design, develop, and support highly-available, scalable software systems - the “building blocks” that support the financial trading lifecycle.
Our team of dedicated software engineers work on solving enterprise software engineering problems using innovative technical solutions in a highly collaborative fast-paced environment.
What’s in it for you:
- Engage in all aspects of the database life-cycle for our enterprise products: requirement analysis, design, implementation and testing, performance tuning, documentation, deployment, and maintenance.
- Help our team give our clients better access to their data and insight into the business processes we perform.
- Be a part of crafting new infrastructure which will empower clients and applications teams to provision the building blocks of a trading system. These developments aim to make our products more useful to our clients and support faster evolution of new products and features within Trading Solutions systems.
You’ll need to have:
- 4+ years working with different programming languages including Python. Knowledge of the Unix command line and tools.
- Fluent in writing efficient SQL queries.
- Familiarity with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Experience with troubleshooting and identifying complex database functional and operational issues.
- 10+ years of working experience with relational databases, PostgreSQL, Oracle, building and maintaining database infrastructure that stores, processes, and analyzes very large amounts of data.
- A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, similar field of study or equivalent work experience.
We'd love to see:
- Solid analytical skills, excellent understanding of big data technologies.
- Prior contributions to system design and architecture and scaling fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
- Familiarity with cloud based and container based technologies
- Experience with Graph databases and familiarity with GraphQL is a big plus.
Salary Range: 160,000 - 240,000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus
