Functional Programming- Derivative Library
Bloomberg revolutionized the financial industry 35 years ago with the Bloomberg Terminal. Now there is a 700 trillion USD derivative industry in need of better tools and automation to make sense of the complexity, risks, pitfalls and regulations surrounding these financial instruments. We are building a groundbreaking platform, which includes complete and flexible financial contract representation with advanced pricing models and an end-to-end large scale enterprise solution.
Using innovative functional programming techniques, you will work at the intersection of technology, finance and mathematics, participate in automatic GUI generation and expand financial contract algebra. You will play a pivotal role in building this new system from the ground up by collaborating with business managers, engineers and quantitative researchers across the company.
We'll trust you to:
- Design, implement and test new features and modules in Bloomberg's derivative library framework and applications
- Partner with product managers, engineering groups and other stakeholders on product vision and project execution
- Take ownership of projects including estimation, scheduling, landmark creation, risk management and status reporting
You'll need to have:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in OCaml, Haskell or Scala
- A passion for tackling tough problems
- Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively
- Experience working with a derivatives product or an interest in learning about the industry
