The Role:

Bloomberg's User Experience group is growing and looking for an innovative UI designer to work on Bloomberg’s web and mobile applications! We are looking for a hands-on teammate with expertise in visual design, design systems, and strategic skills to assess business needs and user scenarios. Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, you will improve web UI framework and assist various enterprise web product design, or design applications across iOS/iPad OS/Android platforms.

You will have a proven track record building visual systems at scale. The individual in this role will be responsible for designing feature enhancements for the applications, and expanding the existing design system. You should have excellent communication skills, problem-solving skills, understand constraints quickly, and be able to create intuitive, optimized, and brand-consistent mobile/web experiences. We are looking for a hybrid UI designer with experience in CSS/HTML/JavaScript development. You will participate in strategic visual design and will bring design concepts to life with pixel precision in CSS.

You'll need to have:

• A link to your online portfolio in your resume. Your application will not be considered without a portfolio
• 4+ years of experience in designing and prototyping for native apps for phones and tablets with expertise in standards for iOS and Android
• A Degree in Communication Design, Graphic Design, Information Design, Interaction Design, or related field
• Intuitive and engaging UI design with simple clean style and a pixel-level attention to detail via a portfolio
• Proficiency with Sketch and Adobe Creative suite
• Experience with HTML 5, CSS3, Xcode, and JavaScript

We'd love to see:

• Prior experience with sophisticated web enterprise applications and mobile environments
• Familiarity with HCI/UCD methodologies, design cycles, and usability standard methodologies

Portfolio:

Our goal is to see if your problem-solving and visual design skills are a good fit for Bloomberg. We would like to see your design process, via: sketches, case studies, UI style-guides, design system work, and research artifacts. We are most interested in seeing in-depth UI/UX design for mobile native applications.

Salary Range: 140,000 - 200,000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus
