The Bloomberg Enterprise Console group designs scalable Big Data solutions that have a deep impact on enterprise level applications for B2B products that are essential to the entire global financial market.

Our engineers are responsible for providing cloud-based infrastructure for our clients, technologists in client firms and Bloomberg’s internal service and support desk, with a way to configure, provision, monitor and alert on connectivity and software resources within client data flows provided as part of Bloomberg’s Enterprise Integration suite. We provide clients the ability to self-service their configuration and monitoring needs through our web application (https://console.bloomberg.com).

The Enterprise Data Model team is at the heart of Enterprise Console. We help provide a centralized approach to model various Bloomberg product offerings and provide the platform to provision and configure these resources and data flows as well as enforce security of resource access and usage through our credential and policy management tools. We also help synchronize the updates between multiple systems and streamline the management of client data flows.

We are currently seeking motivated Full-stack and Backend Engineers who can help us deliver on key business and engineering initiatives while focusing on building a more scalable, secure, robust and flexible data model as we continue to grow our client base.

Technology stack:

 -UI frameworks: Angular 6, React
 -Languages: Python, Typescript, Javascript, Scala, GoLang
 -Deployment: Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes
 -Database: PostgreSQL
 -Cloud: Bloomberg’s Managed Cloud (Openstack)

Your responsibilities:

 -Build the services and web applications for the Enterprise Data Modelling system
 -Design and implement the technical solutions with an eye on the future
 -Collaborate with the team members to maintain the high quality of code with good testing, peer reviews and documentation
 -Collaborate with the stakeholders including product managers and other engineering teams to come up with the best solution
 -Drive projects from the design, technical review to implementation, testing and client deployment

You'll need to have:

 -Proficiency with Python or Javascript/Typescript/ES6+
 -Proficiency in Java or Scala or other backend languages
 -Experience with various web technologies and RESTful API design
 -Experience with SQL and database management
 -Experience working with high volume consumer facing Web applications

We'd love to see:

 -Industry experience in web application development
 -Experience with different design patterns
 -Interest in learning distributed systems and streaming platforms (a plus if you have the experience)
 -Passion for technological advances and the ability to incorporate new technologies into existing systems
