Our Market Applications group looks over the workflows and user experience of the Bloomberg Terminal for areas around foundation applications, macro markets and content workflows, such as research, companies/ equities and data discovery.

We service applications that are leveraged by financial analysts and researchers. Our core focus is document search and discoverability, content authoring, and publications that support the analyst workflow.

Meet the Research Discoverability Team:

Financial analysts use the Bloomberg Document Search platform to collect data that will help in their daily workflows such as conducting research and writing analysis. This research can range from written reports to transcripts of important earnings calls. The Research Discoverability team’s task is to help serve the most relevant information in the most efficient and impactful way possible. This is a rapidly growing and competitive space in the financial research industry.

Our goal is to continue to improve our recently redesigned Document Search platform by surfacing more relevant, impactful content to our clients while improving clients workflows. This includes speeding up searches, exposing important information quickly to enhance decision making and building collaboration tools that allow our users to work together. Our team is the glue that holds the multitude of Research engineering teams together, and we are responsible for co-owning all of the front end as well as the federation searching layer.

We collaborate closely with other Research teams and AI/ML teams here to provide intuitive analytics to enhance our clients’ workflows. Additionally, our team is inclusive and helpful - we train people to be independent and autonomous in their work and ownership, but when they need to reach out for help we are there. People who are willing to try new things (workflows, technologies, ways of working) will thrive on this team.
