The Role:

The Bloomberg Supply Chain systems are used by employees and customers in order to provide fast and excellent customer service. We maintain systems for Bloomberg run warehouses for managing entire life cycle of equipment stocked for shipment to customer and employees. Our systems support warehouse operations like equipment receiving, shipping and quality controls. We also build and manage a web portal to support remote vendor managed warehouses. Other systems support request capture and workflows for Business Cards, Custom Prints and Shipping to other Bloomberg offices and Customers. In addition, we build systems for procurement, logistics and vendor management. We continuously look for ways to improve customer experience while driving operations efficiency to reduce cost incurred by Bloomberg.

Bloomberg Supply Chain Engineering in our New York, NY office is seeking full stack developer who is self-motivated with drive and dedication to join our fast-paced team.  We develop rich user interfaces as well as powerful back-end using various technologies like Python, JavaScript/Typescript and RDBMS like SQL Server, PostgreSQL.  Developers contribute to all phases of software life cycle ranging from requirements through release.  Candidates should exhibit strategic thinking, an aggressive drive, and an aptitude for engineering quality software.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of software development experience in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript
• 3+ years of experience in RDBMS like PostgreSQL and SQL Server
• Working experience on Linux or Unix OS is required
• Understanding of developing with REST API is required
• Experience in test driven development is a plus
• Experience in full software development life cycle activities like requirements management, technical design, implementation, testing/release and support
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Software development using agile methodologies is highly desired
