The News Multimedia Engineering team moving to new generation of video streaming infrastructure, DASH. The system delivers low latency, high quality videos over the Bloomberg private network, it also allows reporters to deliver market impacting news ahead of the competition.

The team is looking for a senior Multimedia Development Engineer to work on cross-platform video/audio streaming products. This individual will be a hands on developer, but will also be asked to participate in project design, and planning. The roles involves developing high-performance streaming infrastructure, designing and developing features in a variety of areas of video streaming backend and media player. Additionally, work on the brand new earning calls stream & archive system, which incorperates the speech-to-text engine to provide transcripts, metadata and alerts for our editors and clients.

Highlights of our upcoming projects include:

• Object and facial recognition for photo and video contents.
• Building on open source libraries, we will be incorporating machine learning technology to auto tag content.
• Developing an enterprise video editing and management product to improve time to market for editors collaborating globally.

You’ll need to have:

• 3+years of Software Engineering experience
• Strong ability to design solutions to complex problems
• Strong C/C++ expertise
