The RTC team is responsible for providing real-time communication solutions for the Bloomberg Professional Service. Our products include cross-platform audio-video conference systems, telephony integration platform, and audio-video application that integrates with Instant Bloomberg messaging platform.

As a member of the RTC SRE team (Real Time Communications), your mission is to improve the platform's reliability, scalability, and performance on cloud-based infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to work alongside engineers with the same goals in mind and be exposed to many open-source solutions and tools. We upgrade our platform to use the latest version of open-source technologies and adopt new ones as needed, so it is a rewarding experience you can explore with us.

We’ll trust you to:

• Participate in network design to ensure performant and reliable audio/video systems
• Contribute in architecture of cloud-native based system and design
• Take ownership of infrastructure projects
• Implement monitoring solutions to monitor system availability and view of system health
• Work closely with application teams to monitor system usage and capacity
• Build automation tools to reduce toil

You'll need to have:

• Demonstrated experience in system design for observability, reliability, and scalability
• Comfortable in debugging system infrastructure and troubleshooting networking issues
• Strong knowledge of Linux system, networking, and cloud-native technologies
• Experience working with cloud deployments
• Good communication skills
• Excels at least in one programming language
• 4+ years of experience in related role (Software Development, Reliability Engineering, DevOps)

We would love to see:

• Experience with Amazon Web Services
• Experience with metrics and monitoring systems such as Grafana, Humio, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry
• Experience with Kubernetes and CNCF projects
• Experience with debugging web application
• Experience with real time communication protocols such as WebRTC, VoIP
• Experience with programming languages we use: Terraform HCL, Ruby (Chef cookbooks), Groovy (Jenkins), YAML (k8s, ansible), Python, Bash, Golang, Javascript, Java

Salary Range: 160,000 - 240,000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus
