Bloomberg is seeking a Software Engineer to test our platforms, drive the test automation strategy, and expand automated test frameworks for our various Trading & Analytics products. We operate in an Agile Development environment and are looking for a self-motivated software tester with a passion for quality, testing software and test automation. 

We perform functional software testing for: 

  • Fixed Income and FX Trading
  • Execution Management System (EMSX)
  • Post Trade Regulatory Offerings 
  • Bloomberg’s award winning Sell-Side platform

You’ll need to have:

  • At least 2 years of professional software development experience using programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript
  • An understanding of modern design patterns and proven experience applying them
  • Passion for testing and experience in backend or front end testing frameworks
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of Unix and/or Linux systems
  • Experience with Git
  • Knowledge of BDD and TDD Frameworks such as Cucumber, Gherkin, Selenium and Jest
  • BA, BS, MS, PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related technology field

We'd love to see:

  • Proven expertise in driving automated testing, utilizing the latest technology stack
  • Experience creating automation frameworks
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Travis or TeamCity
  • Understanding of Financial Markets
  • Experience with FIX testing and creating automated tests for FIX protocol workflows
  • Experience with mentoring and training other members of the team
  • Comfortable with giving demos to multiple teams to showcase work progress
  • Experience with the Bloomberg Terminal

Salary Range: 160,000 - 240,000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
