Our Team:

The Corporate Technology Group is responsible for crafting, deploying, and supporting Bloomberg’s internal IT systems. This includes our global corporate network plus all hardware, software, and enterprise applications used by nearly 21,000 employees in more than 170 state of the art offices around the world. We focus on enterprise solutions, productivity tools, and IT systems integration, which helps move all of Bloomberg's businesses forward.

The Role:

As a Systems Engineer in the Security Application support Team, you will be expected to use your systems design and architecture skills to integrate new security applications, tools, and infrastructure into the Bloomberg environment! The Team works with business partners to implement new and exciting technology that helps keep our offices state of the art and our employees productive! You will collaborate with Bloomberg's Engineering, Security, and Employee Operations teams to make sure that new systems are reliable, secure, and can operate at scale. You will also have the opportunity to work alongside other architects, system reliability engineers, software engineers, and administrators as we transform our corporate infrastructure to meet the needs of a mobile workforce.

We’ll trust you to:

• Perform day-to-day operational management and support of the  IT security infrastructure 
• Maintain and administer security-related applications on Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019, VMware systems and Linux servers through Full System Life Cycle, including installation and configuration, upgrading, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Work independently, diligently, and efficiently on assigned tasks and projects
• Thoroughly research and propose scalable solutions for new technologies proposed by internal IT teams and various business units and/or clients
• Collaborate seamlessly with colleagues from other technical teams
• Complete work off-hours and on weekends for infrastructure changes that cannot be performed during normal business hours with local limited travel as needed

You’ll need to have:

• 6+ years’ experience working as a Systems Engineer or in a similar role
• Solid knowledge in a few of the following: Microsoft networking, AD, DNS, DHCP, and VMware experience
• Familiar with security products such as Forcepoint, Varonis, Cyberark, Proofpoint, Blackberry Workspaces and Tripwire
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written skills in order to establish strong relationships
• Ability to communicate effectively and deal with internal and external customers in a friendly, empathetic, and professional manner
• Demonstrated ability to maintain performance and professional attitude in a fast paced environment
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
• High attention to detail to prevent errors when resolving problems
• Proficiency in a few of the following technologies:
• Microsoft Active Directory administration
• Intimate knowledge of data backup and restoration, including deduplication technologies
• VMware virtualization experience
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Clustering technologies
• Strong knowledge of monitoring solutions
• Knowledge of Enterprise AntiVirus technologies (namely McAfee ePO)
• Strong understanding of networking and IT security concepts
• Knowledge of NetApp Storage Area Network,  
• Knowledge of VCenter Administration and SRM integration
• Knowledge of Linux VM appliances administration and support.

We’d love to see (Not Required):

• Ability to administer wide range of MS and third party server products including SharePoint, Splunk, SCCM, Netscaler/F5 Load Balancer, Imprivata, Microsoft Teams, Hyper-converged technology, XenApp, SFTP and SolarWinds
