A lot of companies think they have high streaming traffic but not many can say they stream more than two million videos per day totaling petabytes of data each month. As the Engineering team behind Bloomberg's multimedia operations, we build the back end of the company's multimedia assets on the Web. What we build is used by Bloomberg's multiple TV and radio channels as well as our Video-on-Demand service. With more than 200,000 assets in our library, it's our job to make sure our end users can watch them wherever and whenever they want.

Our team is not just working on the code but also helping with the delivery of the content itself. To do that, we work with the video producers, the front end developers who are building the websites and the delivery networks. • Engineer end-to-end multimedia infrastructure and delivery for web consumption
• Make improvements to deliver reliable and flexible service for our internal and external users
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Own our multimedia generation and delivery

You need to have:

• 3+ years of experience coding in JavaScript
• Deep understanding of JavaScript core concepts
• Excellent understanding of the DOM API
• Experience with public facing high traffic applications
• Excellent CSS skills
• Excellent understanding of browser performance and memory leaks
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Excellent understanding of data structures
