Our team:

On the Feeds team, we build real-time feed handlers for financial data sources across the globe such as the New York Stock Exchange, BM&F Bovespa and London Stock Exchange. Our real-time content is normalized and sent out to numerous Bloomberg Applications that allow our customers to get through their day-to-day. While our group has around 15 software developers in New York, our larger team is split across New York, London and Tokyo with a global population of 75.

You will report directly to the global Head of Market Data while managing our New York team and the Americas region. You will be responsible for three teams of software developers, each with the scope to increase in the future.

We'll trust you to:

  • Drive strategic and technical direction for the group
  • Effectively understand and transform legacy software
  • Influence and grow team leaders, challenging them with continuous improvement
  • Modernize processes and workflows such as integrating the use of Agile
  • Build business relationships on the basis of what they need to hear, not what they want to hear
  • Build strong rapport with the team by showing how you are able to help grow their careers/skills
  • Collaborate effectively across multiple time zones - Americas, EMEA, APAC
  • Handle the frequent and unexpected changes dictated by the exchange where deadlines are not under your control
  • Recruit top C++ developers to join the team

You'll need to have:

  • A strong technical background in C++/UNIX
  • The ability to understand and transform legacy software
  • 3+ years of experience managing and growing team leaders
  • The ability to drive change
