Bloomberg’s Telemetry Engineering team is building a company-wide system for monitoring application and infrastructure metrics, logs, and other telemetry data. The Grand Unified Telemetry System (GUTS) will improve our ability to detect and resolve issues before they impact our clients. The GUTS UI enables Bloomberg engineers to configure their various data sources to be collected and to configure rules that will generate alerts/notifications when particular conditions are met. There are many challenging problems that need to be solved around generating optimal alerts, automating responses, getting the right people involved, and assisting the alert recipients with understanding the depth and breadth of the issues.We are looking for experienced and passionate software engineers to primarily work on the backend data collection and processing components of the system.

We are interested in people who enjoy solving interesting problems and learning new skills and technologies.

You need to have:

• 3+ years of experience designing and implementing C++ applications and/or infrastructure
• Basic competence with at least one modern scripting language (ex. Python, Ruby, etc.)

We'd love to see:

• Experience designing and implementing distributed systems
