The Role:

Bloomberg's Structured Products group is looking for developers to fill various roles within our department. We have teams that build applications, process and curate data, develop infrastructure, and create predictive models.

Our interview process is dynamic, and our assessment of your abilities and experience will drive where you are placed in one of our teams. It is most important that you demonstrate a capacity to learn and ability to think on your feet during the interview process.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of professional software Development experience
  • BS in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Physics, or other related field
  • Working knowledge in a scripting (Python, Javascript, Ruby, etc.) or compiled language (Java, C++)
  • Experience in Python and Linux a plus

Although our teams primarily work in Python and C++, experience in these languages is not a requirement. You will be challenged to find the appropriate technology and tools to fit the problem.
While knowledge of Structured Products or other financial concepts is not required, candidates are expected to have a strong desire to learn the domain. We expect to train new developers in the concepts underlying Structured Products.

Candidates are expected to be excellent communicators, work independently, take personal responsibility for the success of their projects, and drive them forward with initiative and determination.
