The Role:

Bloomberg Media is looking for a deeply creative video producer / editor for the digital video team to work on our ambitious daily and weekly news-driven explainer videos. Applicants should be comfortable working as a one-person-band, taking a story from idea to final product including story development, writing, shooting and post production.

This person will work with Bloomberg writers and editorial teams to develop video stories on technology, markets, science, energy, politics, media, autos and other business news. Videos will be based off breaking news, features and original pitches. You will be asked to look for creative ways to tell a story using interviews, props, drawing and other techniques.

You will be able to:

  • Engage and understand the 24 hour business news cycle
  • Work with Bloomberg reporters and editorial staff to identify, develop and script daily and weekly digital videos
  • Shoot and edit digital videos featured on on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Work closely with Bloomberg's digital video managing team to develop a compelling editing style for videos.
  • Tell stories

You need to have:

  • Minimum 3 years of post production experience
  • Passion for news and an understanding of editorial standard methodologies
  • Non-linear video editing
  • Adobe Premiere
  • Avid experience a plus
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Cinema Cameras
  • Interviewing
  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours and travel (including nights, weekends and holidays)
  • Highly collaborative, and creative
  • Script and/or voice-over writing
