Our Tech Ops team is a part of Bloomberg’s Global Data division that provides clients with the foundation of our product – data. Bloomberg connects decision makers to a dynamic network of accurate data, and Global Data is responsible for getting the data there. We partner with Global Data product teams and Data Technology Engineering teams to build scalable data and business systems and applications to acquire, extract, and disseminate these data to downstream systems and clients. Our team members have a mixture of business acumen and technical expertise. We jump at the opportunity to engineer more efficient processes, think strategically, and challenge ourselves by finding creative solutions to complex problems.

You Are:

You are process minded with a keen eye for identifying opportunities for improvement and making those improvements a reality. You have strong communication skills and are able to condense and explain complex topics to technical and non-technical counterparts alike. You are an entrepreneurial self-starter who continually looks for ways to improve your job, yourself, and others.

We’ll trust you to:

• Research, analyze, and diagram business processes, workflows, and data pipelines.
• Analyze process data and derive insights around process improvement
• Develop, manage, and communicate business requirements to stakeholders
• Design and develop workflow solutions leveraging work item tracking and routing, data capture, and downstream publishing stores
• To leverage proprietary tools to design scalable workflow solutions.
• Design data capture applications with an eye for optimizing user experience
• Troubleshoot technical issues with automated systems

You should have:

• 1 to 3 years of previous work/internship experience in information technology, engineering, data analysis, or research
• Strong problem solving skills with a drive to think creatively
• Experience and familiarity with one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g. Python, Javascript, Java, Groovy, etc.) and knowledge of object oriented concepts
• Experience with database design and structure for relational or non-relation databases and experience with query languages like SQL.
• Coursework related to data analysis, informatics, mathematics, economics, and other STEM focuses
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Excel and Visio and other Microsoft Suite products
