We collect, analyze, process and publish the data which is the backbone of our iconic Bloomberg Terminal-the facts and figures which ultimately move the financial markets. We apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies and we implement technology solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes-and all this while providing platinum customer support to our clients.
 
The Structured Products market makes up nearly $10 trillion of US public and private bond market debt. Banks use financial engineering to transform a variety of assets, such as residential and commercial mortgages, auto and student loans, and credit card debt, into securities that are structured to meet nearly any investor appetite.
 
What’s the role?
Global Data CLO Modelers are responsible for maintaining a large library of individual deal CLO Refinance cashflow models and data for these securities. You will be utilizing cutting-edge modeling tools to improve the accuracy and coverage of our product. Global Data CLO Modelers will be responsible for reverse engineering CLO Refinance cashflow structures, tying out bespoke cashflow models with lead managers, processing CLO loan tapes, and derivation of key data points that drive projected cashflows. As a Global Data CLO Modeler, you will develop bespoke schemas to automate periodic factor, coupon, and collateral performance data extraction using cutting edge technology such as python, regex and SQLite. Proficiently maintaining, debugging and ensuring timely monthly cashflow projections is a key responsibility of all Global Data CLO Modelers within the team. They also work closely with our engineering teams and product teams to expand cashflow and data coverage. As part of our team, your input on technology will be crucial to the development and growth of our product.

We'll trust you to:

  • Reverse engineer and manage a large library of CLO cashflow models in a python-based platform
  • Iteratively tie-out pre-pricing and settled CLO Refinance deal models with lead managers
  • Develop and maintain bespoke data extractors to automate periodic bond and collateral data collection using cutting edge technology such as python, regex and SQLite
  • Ensure consistency, quality and timely product delivery while providing excellent service to internal and external customers
  • Train, coach and mentor junior team members
  • Collaborate with our Engineers to design and implement internal system tools, data test validations, automated product reports, and workflows
  • Liaise with Business Managers, Engineering, Trustees, and Lead Managers regularly to further develop the cashflow model engine, expand CLO coverage, and enhance modeling and testing capabilities

You’ll need to have:

  • BA/BS degree or higher in STEM fields or Finance with very strong technical skills
  • At least two years of relevant work experience
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms and object-oriented design
  • Strong understanding of structured products and the underlying mathematics
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively partner with stakeholders in Engineering and lead iterative development cycles to continuously enhance workflows
  • An enthusiasm to represent the cashflow modeling product both internally and externally
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and capable of handling multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Commitment to enhancing and developing products using the latest data extraction technology.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

We’d love to see:

  • MBA or CFA a plus
  • 1+ years of programming experience
  • Strong knowledge of Python, SQL, and Linux
  • Pre-established relationships with key stakeholders within the CLO space
