Bloomberg is looking for a highly motivated and driven individual to join a team that delivers loan-level collateral data within the Fixed Income Mortgages product. This team is responsible for researching and creating loan-level data for non-agency RMBS and ABS securitized products then support monthly updates post settlement. The team is also responsible for tying out projected cashflows based on settlement loan tapes to projections made by lead managers then liaising with internal cashflow modelers to provide clients with full analytical functionality. You will work in a highly technical environment leveraging coding languages like Python, regex, SQLite and Github to perform daily tasks while partnering with stakeholders in Engineering.

We'll trust you to:

  • Understand the collateral roadmap through both the securitization and servicing processes
  • Demonstrate ownership over the various aspects of collateral updating and publishing
  • Cultivate relationships with Engineering in order to drive workflow enhancements
  • Work together with new issues analysts and modeling teams to ensure communication across the product
  • Drive coverage expansion efforts into previously uncovered sectors
  • Ensure consistency, quality and product delivery while providing excellent service to internal and external customers
  • Create processes and standards that ensure our data products exceed expectations

You need to have:

  • The ability to work legally in the US without visa sponsorship now or in the future
  • BA/BS in Business, Finance, Math, Statistics, Computer Science and 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of structure products is preferable
  • Aptitude in coding language such as Python, C++, etc. is required
  • Advanced usage of Excel; specifically: Pivot tables, conditional formatting and comfort working with large data files
  • Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and capable of handling multiple projects
  • Ability to meet deadlines, logically tackle problems and set priorities
  • Commitment to enhancing and developing products using the latest data extraction technology
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Powerpoint and MS Office is required
