You will join Bloomberg as a Finance/Business Reporter in our Riyadh office to cover banks and companies. Your main focus will be to break news on one of the bureau's most important beats and write agenda-setting stories. You'll become proficient in analyzing data, spotting trends before anyone else, and interviewing business executives, bankers and investors while working under real-time deadline pressure.

You're a reporter with a strong sense of curiosity who will own coverage of the beat in Saudi Arabia, which is undergoing momentous transformation under its new leadership. You're a self-starter with the motivation to be the best on the beat. You'll propose stories regularly, and pitch in for coverage of other key beats in the wider region, from economy to politics, markets and energy.

We'll count on you to:

• Break news and write enterprise stories under deadline pressure
• Carry out in-depth analysis and become proficient with the Bloomberg Terminal
• Develop contacts across a range of industries, but in particular in finance and investing
• Write for a range of platforms
• Be a team player with colleagues in the Gulf and around the world

You need to have:

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Previous journalism experience
• Fluency in English and Arabic
• Strong news judgment and a proven ability to break news
• An unwavering commitment to accuracy
• A strong work ethic and ability to work well within teams

We'd love to see:

• Experience of working in a real-time news environment
• Knowledge of companies and finance in Saudi Arabia, its regulation, financial markets
• Previous business reporting experience at a major newspaper or wire service
