The Data Center Network Infrastructure (DCNI) team manages the infrastructure that powers the Bloomberg Terminal, our core product. You’ll have the chance to work on capacity management, network application troubleshooting, infrastructure deployment, and automation. You’ll also interact with vendors to resolve software/hardware related issues. Technology and product knowledge of various vendor platforms both from the standpoint of network and network security are essential to the role. On our team, you will help solve problems related to market data distribution, maintain and enhance network stability, drive automation, and shorten our deployment cycle.

We’ll trust you to:
- Engineer and deploy appropriate network solutions for data center networks
- Identify technology gaps and develop and implement appropriate solutions collaboratively
- Create formal guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure smooth and error-free operations
- Drive relevant, strategic solutions in a highly scalable environment
- Maintain high availability and performance of the data center networks using various network monitoring tools including packet capture analysis
- Participate in capacity planning activities and identify areas for improvements in managing network resource and inventory
- Develop procedures for automating specific activities around repetitive tasks
You’ll need to have:
- 7+ years of experience with large network deployments in an enterprise or service provider setting
- Strong knowledge of routing and switching concepts and technologies (OSPF, BGP, PIM, MC-LAG)
- Strong knowledge in IOS, JunOS, NX-OS, EOS and hardware
- An understanding of network management, network security, SNMP and Radius
- Experience working collaboratively with Network Engineers, Systems software developers and Administrators
- UNIX knowledge and experience (mostly Solaris, Linux)
- Working experience with firewalls, load balancers, and web proxies
- Proven ability to solve complex problems using a modern programming/scripting language (Perl, Python, Ruby)
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues related to hardware, L3/L2 deployment, application behaviors and TCP stack
We'd love to see:
- Programming experience in network automation, and performance management
- Working knowledge of Ansible and SaltStack a plus
- Familiarity working with Agile methodology
