Job Description

Due to significant business expansion, we’re growing the team! We’re looking to welcome a recent Computer Science or technology graduate with a passion for good customer service and a genuine interest in financial markets. If you can bring these things along with a great positive attitude, we can teach you the rest!

The Business:

Financial firms rely on dozens of critical systems to develop and execute strategies, evaluate risk, track P&L, manage sales and trading, and handle settlement. The constant challenge is the complexity of integrating these systems so that data moves correctly across the enterprise, at higher speeds and lower costs. Building solutions in-house can take a large team and a larger investment. Integrators and consultants may not understand a firm’s business model or data. That’s where we come in.

Here at Bloomberg Connectivity and Integration Services (CIS), we help firms manage that complexity. Providing common tools, services and expertise, we enable firms to simplify technology relationships. This ultimately drives lower total cost of ownership, faster time to market and improved transparency. With our track record in delivering hosted solutions and our understanding of Capital Markets, we believe we are uniquely positioned to help clients with the integration challenge.

What's the role?

In this role you’ll provide technical application support and integration assistance to our expanding client base across both the Buy side and Sell side. You’ll be part of a tight-knit team, supporting a large variety of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflows between Bloomberg and Client systems. You’ll be handling inquiries about our custom integrations which connect via multiple methodologies, including SWIFT, FIX, XML, SFTP and MQ.

Where can the role take me?

Many Analysts love the excitement and team feel on the Support Desk and continue to develop their career in that space. Some are keen to use their programming skills and progress into the Solution Design and Implementation team. A move into our Sales team can be a good option for those with both a commercial and technical mindset. With time, some challenge themselves in an exciting leadership role.

  • Provide an outstanding level of Production Support to our client base in the Americas
  • Be proactive with the follow through and follow up of issues
  • Ensure a smooth life cycle experience, when clients move from project implementation to production support

You'll need to have:

  • A Computer Science or technology related degree
  • A positive attitude, focusing on teamwork and effective collaboration
  • A willingness to learn and apply knowledge
  • Excellent communication and client facing skills
  • Strong Analytical and Problem Solving experience
  • An ability to manage time effectively & multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Legal authorization to work full-time in the United States and will not require visa sponsorship now or in the future

We’d love to see:

  • Exposure to programming / scripting languages
  • An understanding of the financial markets, and financial asset classes / products
