The role of Sales Relationship Manager is to forge deep and trusted relationships with our clients, taking the time to understand their businesses, their pressures and concerns, the ins and outs of their workflow and technology. Armed with this intel and your consultative approach, you will uncover opportunities for us to expand our partnerships while at the same time decreasing our clients’ operating costs.

You’ll also keep your ears close to the ground, up to date with the latest trends and business initiatives within your client base. Your skill and passion in KYC will ensure we maximize opportunities and mitigate risks to our revenue.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Effectively lead the sales cycle from identifying opportunities to generating revenue through terminal and enterprise solutions sales
  • Be able to describe, differentiate and position the value of all of our offerings
  • Anticipate client needs, build relationships, and adapt your sales approach
  • Collaborate with specialized and ancillary sales teams to promote and achieve enterprise wide targets
  • Establish and foster credibility with our clients by constantly improving your knowledge of the terminal and the evolving data and analytical tools available

You’ll need to have:

  • 3-5 years of sell-side and/or buy-side experience in or selling within the financial markets (specific asset class knowledge preferred)
  • Proven consultative sales skills, including: competitive market research, lead generation, prospecting, business development, and closing sales
  • Ability to identify and capitalize different buyer motivations across various client sectors
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex sales engagements concurrently
  • Experience in building and maintaining client relationships both externally and internally
  • Ability to travel frequently

Additional Skills and Responsibilities include:

Sales & Prospecting:

  • Utilizes strong product knowledge, technical skills, and market knowledge to generate revenue from our terminal business and broader technology & data suite.
  • Demonstrate sales creativity in combining our offerings or looking to create new unique offerings which present strong ROI for the firm.

Product skill and Market Knowledge:

  • Have an in-depth knowledge of what your customers do at all levels of their business. This will include terminal users, and other stakeholders who leverage our broader technology and data suite.
  • Be able to articulate the features and benefits of Bloomberg enterprise level products in great detail, so that you can act as a consultative partner for your customers.
  • Show an exceptional knowledge of our core terminal products and how workflows apply to specific customer groups and industry types.
  • Credibly position our analytics, data, and solutions in the context of the developing financial markets and changing technology landscape.

Business Focused:

  • Understand the dynamics of a specific client's business and where we have the highest ROI, including who are the decisions makers, who influence decisions makers, and factors that impact firm’s decisions.
  • Have exceptional questioning skills and listening skills to find opportunities and learn from the client.
  • Drive business goals through influencing without authority amongst all stakeholders which will include your customers, your peers, product, and specialists.
  • Spot trends in the market, develop & implement strategies accordingly; promote replicable successful strategies to your peers.
  • Have exceptional presentation and demonstration skills.
  • Overcome objections from a client to maintain and build relationships.
  • Influence the direction of Bloomberg product through thought leadership and establishing relationships between Bloomberg's decisions makers and our clients.
