Bloomberg is seeking an exceptional candidate to join our Portfolio Analytics Research team. The role encompasses researching all aspects of portfolio analytics, including: factor modeling, volatility forecasting, risk attribution, performance attribution, scenario analysis, tail-risk estimation, and portfolio optimization.
Responsibilities:
- Research, develop, and validate models for portfolio analysis
- Collaborate with Data, Product and Software Engineering teams
- Propose and substantiate new research ideas
- Communicate clearly through face-to-face meetings, presentations and written publications
- Deliver on complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Perform literature reviews and keep apprised of current research
Key qualifications include:
- PhD degree in Physics, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or similar quantitative field
- Experience implementing statistical models that apply cross-sectional and time-series econometrics, dimensionality reduction, and optimization techniques
- Expertise in one or more statistical programming languages – Python is preferred
- Familiarity with software development tools such as GitHub
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
