Using data from billions of anonymized transactions, we have built a self-service analytics product for daily tracking and real-time exploration of 5,200+ public and private companies. Clients use Bloomberg Second Measure to discover new markets, gain an advantage in financial investments, and inform their competitive strategies.

As a senior product manager at Bloomberg Second Measure (reporting to the head of product), you’ll expand an existing product that is focused on helping investors understand company and market performance and B2C companies find opportunities to grow their business.  You’re passionate about solving your target market’s business problems using insights about consumer spending behavior derived from de-identified transaction data.  You will think and act as a business owner who is equally aware of sales and ensuring users’ realize value as you are of product development and data sciences. You are just as comfortable participating in sales and strategy discussions as you are in detailed engineering and data science discussions. 

We’ll trust you to:

  • Help build and refine our product vision & strategy for investment and B2C companies
  • Empathetically understand our target user’s business 
  • Identify business solutions and define valuable product capabilities to help users achieve their goals
  • Define functionality and use visualizations to tell stories with data
  • Collaborate and lead across the business functions 
  • Be the product owner to your Agile team(s)

You’ll need to have:

  • 5+ years experience managing software products used by investment companies, preferably in analytics or business intelligence used by research analysts, quants or portfolio managers
  • Direct experience running customer discovery and validation processes
  • Ability to tell compelling stories using data that leads to “a-ha” moments  
  • Ability to integrate data insights into customer workflows so they can realize the most value from your product
  • The right amount of prioritization and process to achieve near-term business targets while positioning for longer-term scale  
  • Specialization in applying data, metrics, and visualizations
  • Effectiveness in communicating with customers, engineers, and data scientists alike 
  • BA, BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or related technology field, or equivalent experience

We’d love to see:

  • You’ve conducted data analysis of company, consumers or markets and presented findings to investors or B2C executives 
  • You’ve implemented and refined Agile development processes
  • You are or have been a Bloomberg Terminal user
