The News Multimedia Engineering team is expanding to San Francisco Headquarters. We are looking for a senior programmer to play a leading role in the design, implementation and support of Media Applications provided by Bloomberg.

Our brand new digital asset management system supports the entire Bloomberg Media ecosystem globally, manages millions of assets, and provides an API tool set for content feeds and downstream clients. As part of this team, you will have an opportunity to make a major impact and truly define your technical legacy. The ideal candidate has a strong background in developing multimedia applications, experience working with Content Management Systems, DRM/encryption, and online delivery platforms.

Highlights of our upcoming projects include:

• Object and facial recognition for photo and video contents.
• Building on open source libraries, we will be incorporating machine learning technology to auto tag content.
• Developing an enterprise video editing and management product to improve time to market for editors collaborating globally.

You’ll need to have:

• 3+ years of development experience
• Strong knowledge in C/C++, JavaScript and Python
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills
• Collaboration Skills

We’d love to see:

• Experience and interest with machine learning libraries
• Knowledge of search technologies
• Eagerness to explore and learn
