Our team:

Bloomberg New Energy Finance is seeking a talented and highly-motivated individual to join our Latin America team as an analyst in São Paulo. You will be joining a team who undertake primary research and analysis on technology, economic and policy drivers affecting South American power markets, with a special focus on Latin America.

What’s the role:

You will be responsible for producing written reports, presentations, tools and other products prepared in English. You will also be responsible for answering client requests and supporting business development through client interactions.

Outputs will take the form of regular weekly and monthly reports, consulting projects, ad-hoc topical reports, gathering and presenting market data, as well as answering client requests, supporting business development through client interaction and making presentations at conferences and events in English, Portuguese and Spanish. If you are articulate, intellectually curious and appreciate a fast pace then you will thrive in this environment.

You'll need to have:

• Undergraduate or graduate level degree in a numerate or science based subject preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Strong working knowledge of energy technologies, economics, and finance.
• Interest in the energy industry in general and electrical power industry in particular.
• Ability to think critically, discuss logically and rationally.
• Ability to retrieve information by contacting people and analyzing documents.
• Strong quantitative skills, comfortable with large datasets and models
• Working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel; experience with VBA would be preferred but not required.
• Strong communication skills (writing, speaking, and presenting).
• Native level proficiency in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
• Attention to detail, and ability to assimilate and assess new and highly technical information
• Experience as an intern or analyst within an energy, consulting, investment or financial services organization advantageous but not required
