Bloomberg News is looking for an enthusiastic reporter to join our Seoul bureau. You will relish jumping on fast-paced developments and quickly delivering stories across a wide range of topics, ranging from North Korea's Kim Jong Un and the presidential Blue House to mega-mergers and financial malfeasance. You will also enjoy working closely with breaking news editors as first responders to an erupting development, monitoring various websites and news portals and firing off market-moving headlines quickly and accurately.
If this is you, we are looking for a versatile reporter who can cover a broad swath of breaking developments out of the Korean Peninsula. The position is in Seoul and reports to the Seoul bureau chief.
We'll trust you to:
- Deliver accurate and concise stories under tight deadlines
- Generate instant analysis that don't just focus on the "what happened'' but also on the "why'' and "so what''
- Collaborate extensively with Seoul bureau colleagues covering government, technology, companies and financial markets while assisting breaking news editors monitor local wires.
- Talk about your stories on Bloomberg TV, Bloomberg Radio and Bloomberg Quicktake
You'll need to have:
- A minimum of three years of Financial journalism
- Experience in real-time news environment
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Ability to write quickly and clearly under deadline pressure
- Fluency in English and Korean
