Who we are:

We are the Financial Solutions Recruitment team, with colleagues across Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, London, New York and Sao Paulo. We manage full life-cycle recruitment for roles across the Bloomberg Financial Solutions – a department which comprises several key pillars: sales, service, operations, culture and brand; and united by a common goal: to create meaningful relationships with clients by understanding their needs and delivering exceptional end-to-end support from sales and implementation, through their ongoing relationship with Bloomberg.

As a Financial Solutions recruitment team, we partner closely with our businesses to develop a deep understanding of their objectives, products, people, and challenges, and use these insights to develop a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy to attract, recruit and onboard top level talent. We bring creative ideas, curiosity, and insights to the table, backed up with market knowledge and a data-driven approach.

What’s the role:

We are seeking a Recruiting Partner to be based in Shanghai. You're an energetic, commercial and collaborative recruiter who believes that talent is the fuel that makes an organization go round. You don’t just transact but inject advice, well thought out sourcing strategies and key market insights at every step of the recruiting process. You’re also keen to partner with your clients to help identify and hire the best and brightest diverse talent, as well as building your internal and external networks. You bring a deep commitment to building an inclusive workforce, person by person and team by team.

We'll trust you to:

  • Quickly build an in-depth knowledge of the businesses and provide a platinum service to stakeholders and candidates
  • Fully understand the needs of your respective hiring managers’ and collaborate with them to manage the full lifecycle recruitment process from sourcing to onboarding
  • Think creatively to develop non-traditional talent sourcing strategies to aid specific business strategic initiatives
  • Source candidates directly through internal and external industry networking, direct head hunting and various online recruiting tools
  • Stay in tune with external market factors affecting talent, as well as new best practices/trends affecting recruiting
  • Be agile, resourceful, strategic and demonstrate your ability to pivot across ever-changing priorities
  • Partner with HR colleagues – HR Business Partners, Leadership & Talent Development, Diversity & Inclusion, Employee Relations, and Mobility & Immigration, to be an effective strategic partner to your business stakeholders
  • Represent the Bloomberg brand in every interaction

You'll need to have:

  • At least 8 years of recent experience as a recruiter including successful recruitment of experienced professionals in an agency/executive search firm or corporate environment
  • Experience recruiting talent from SOE and/or local Chinese financial institutions, as well as overseas financial services talent into China
  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills, a consultative approach, ability to influence multiple constituents without direct authority and effectively network within a global matrixed organization
  • Ability to capture and organize market intelligence data
  • Experience building creative sourcing strategies including sourcing from local job boards
  • Strong candidate assessment skills and experience using applicant tracking systems and other recruiting-related applications
  • Experience in collaborating and aligning with internal HR and business stakeholders across the region
  • Well-developed critical thinking skills and strategic mindset
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin
  • Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization

We'd love to see: 

  • Experience using local platforms (eg Wechat) for recruiting and employer branding
  • Experience implementing successful diversity sourcing strategies/campaigns
  • A track record in mapping new markets and producing competitor intelligence reports
