Bloomberg Intelligence (BI) provides Terminal users with in-depth analysis, models and data sets on over 135 industries and 2,000 companies. Teams across asset classes including Equity, Strategy, Credit, Government, Litigation, and ESG generate research that provides creative investment ideas and products tailored to our client - by investment professionals, for investment professionals.

BI ESG team provides and promotes in-depth ESG investment solutions covering research, analysis, models and data providing critical insights that can help clients and investors identify risks and opportunities that traditional investment research may overlook.

Climate change, regulatory pressures, corporate governance or human capital are just a few critical Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors global investors can consider to identify risks and opportunities and gain deeper intelligence to complement conventional financial analysis.

By better understanding ESG issues, factors, themes and how they impact industries' competitive landscapes and companies' financial profile, clients can gain insight into investment risks or opportunities tied to of a company, industry, or market that are not always recognised.

What’s the role?

We are looking for a highly-motivated research analyst to join our team, focusing on tracking ESG companies and industries relative performance or examining ESG market and policy trends by developing data and financial-driven ESG analysis to deliver and publish actionable research - from an APAC lens

We'll trust you to:

  • Identify, analyse ESG data of companies, industries, debt and ETF across APAC in order to publish research on ESG issues, themes, and trends affecting companies, industries and financial markets.
  • Develop models leveraging ESG and financial data where possible to examine implications and track companies or industries progress as well as market trends to deliver both actionable and interactive research
  • Work closely with our global Bloomberg Intelligence analysts and strategists teams located in Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, London and New York to coordinate and collaborate on ESG analysis.
  • Participate and initiate marketing events including webinars, roundtables and conferences to commercialize research ideas.
  • Network within the world of ESG investing promoting Bloomberg Intelligence ESG offering.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of clients (investors, market professional, investor relations personnel, industry specialists within the world of ESG investing.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders across Bloomberg ecosystem including Core Product, Global Data, Bloomberg Philanthropies teams to contribute to data, product or relevant projects and seek synergies wherever possible

You'll need to have:

  • 7+ years of experience in ESG Environmental, Social and Governance research is essential
  • Experience in a research analysis role in either a sellside, buyside or consulting setup
  • Experience interpreting financial statements and financial modelling
  • Primary research and writing skills.
  • Ability to be a self-starter, independent thinker, and collaborative team player.
  • Working knowledge of the Bloomberg Terminal.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English 

We’d love to see:

  • Master's degree or advanced financial certification such as a CFA charter holder.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting financial statements,
  • Knowledge of quantitative modelling, statistical analysis, and programming.
