Bloomberg News is seeking an economy news editor for Southeast Asia to help drive our regional coverage of central banks, economic indicators, government budgets, trade policy and much more.

You will work with a team of experienced reporters and stringers in bureaus from Kuala Lumpur to Manila, sending key economic headlines, developing story ideas, collaborating with markets teams and others, and using graphics and various platforms to showcase our work.

The ideal candidate will have strong writing and editing skills, is a team player, and can connect the dots between what's happening on a country and regional level to what's happening globally. Being able to analyze economic data is a key advantage.

You will report to a team leader in Singapore, and will ideally be based in Singapore, or in one of our Southeast Asia bureaus (Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bangkok, Manila)

You'll need to have:

• Ability to edit quickly and concisely under deadline pressure
• Be able to send market-moving headlines
• Understanding of economics and how central banks work
• 3+ years of journalism experience is essential and working in a real-time news environment is desirable
• Ability to work calmly in a high-pressure environment
