We are now looking for qualified people to join the content operations division of Bloomberg Law as Legal Data Analysts, focusing on legislative and regulatory law. Legal Data Analysts are primarily tasked with creating the data and content framework off of which BLAW's products are built and maintaining that content.
Work hand in hand with both our business and engineering teams as you'll work to ensure data related to the legal content is in a condition conducive to user-facing enhancements. You'll also work to create processes that ensure that users get consistent, market-leading results when they our BLAW products.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience. Preferably you'll have a minor or some coursework in Management Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical work experience
- JD and/or 2+ years of experience with online legal research platforms or research databases
- 1+ years of experience in data analysis and/or project management
- Strong organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills and analytical skills
- An understanding of primary and secondary legal materials
We would love to see:
- Experience using Excel or VBA for data analysis
- Familiarity with MS Excel and/or MS Access
- Experience using legal research platforms in the context of a legal practice
- Familiarity with markup languages (XML, SGML and/or HTML) and XPath
