What's the roles?

On any given day as a Market Specialist you will be consulting with senior decision makers at client accounts, increasing awareness of Bloomberg solutions, helping to close new sale opportunities, and shaping product development. By evangelizing the Bloomberg Professional Service at market events and through printed material, you become the face of Bloomberg.

Comprised of former portfolio managers, analysts, sales representatives, traders, and more, Market Specialists are the asset class experts at Bloomberg, combining market experience with product knowledge. The team heightens our clients' product experience to maintain and increase sales revenue, and is a dedicated source of client feedback for our product development teams. Market Specialists also play a vital role in enhancing the knowledge of our sales force. Drawing on their market expertise, specialists keep all users up-to-date through writing for a variety of publications.

We'll trust you to:

  • Protect the existing terminal base, increase product adoption, and generate incremental sales revenue
  • Build influential relationships with senior level contacts and market decision-makers
  • Provide business managers with actionable feedback on the latest trends, regulations, and market practices to help shape future product development
  • Utilize industry events, together with your prepared content, to market our product
  • Educate the sales force through internal training and seminars
  • Contribute to our written content bespoke for clients

You'll need to have:

  • 7+ years of practical experience and detailed theoretical knowledge of equity buy-side work flow and analysis; including financial and company analysis as well as portfolio construction and management
  • Thorough knowledge and experience of the BLOOMBERG PROFESSIONAL® service, and familiarity with other competitor market information platforms
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to operate within both departmental and company-wide initiatives, in a non-hierarchical structure without corporate titles
  • A thirst to keep abreast of market, regulatory and product developments
  • Ability to convey complex ideas and solutions in a simple and concise way to audiences both large and small, using either the written or the spoken word
  • Excellent negotiating and inter-personal skills, with the capacity to influence decisions and deliver results in a timely manner
  • Willingness to travel

We'd love to see:

  • A commercial mindset with the ability to identify and develop opportunities for other groups within the company and to build strong internal as well as external networks
  • CFA charter and/or MBA
