R&D Equity Trader is looking for a software developer to join a new team building a new product: a historical trading database. The goal is to store and serve the millions of orders flowing through Bloomberg and non-Bloomberg order managements systems. We are looking into big data solutions for this flow.

We aim to enrich and personalize the Terminal using client-specific historical trading information. We also want to leverage this information to provide rich analytics.
Our team in Tel Aviv is looking for someone who won't be afraid to explore new technologies and work on a new product designed from the ground up, as well as work together with many teams within R&D. You will be an experienced C++ developer, and ideally have experience with Big Data databases like Hadoop.

We trust you to:

  • Take responsibility for the full software development life-cycle, from understanding the needs of the business through to coding to deployment and maintenance. Your work will be highly visible, making you highly accountable
  • Enjoy solving highly complex problems while understanding the scope and impact of your work
  • Be quick, resourceful, flexible, and an excellent collaborator. You will balance the best of technical and product knowledge to craft unsurpassed product solutions for our customers
  • Engage with the wider community. You might love to work with open source software. We interact with the open source communities by contributing changes where we can. You will also be able to take part in related meet-ups and conferences

You'll need to have:

  • Software development experience in C/C++
  • Experience with working with large sets of data, preferably with distributed storage, distributed processing and NoSQL
  • Passion for design, problem solving and hands-on development

We'd love to see:

  • Experience with Java or Scala is a plus
  • Experience with multi-threading programming is preferred (C++/Java)
  • Experience with HBase, Kafka or Spark
