If that sounds like you, we want you to join our Breaking News team as a contractor in Asia.
What's the role?
The breaking News team is looking for a 1 year contractor to join our Tokyo bureau. You will work alongside a team of experienced editors to write breaking-news stories on business and general-interest topics, ranging from stock market reports to natural disasters and strikes. You will also help transform news releases and contribute to finding financial details to immediate real-time headlines and work within a high-pressure team environment, in which the delay of a second or less can spell the difference between a win and a loss.
You'll need to have:
A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
2-3 years of journalism experience
Knowledge of financial markets and business
Experience of working in a real-time news environment is highly desirable
Fluency in Japanese especially the ability to read and understand Business News
