From a presidential impeachment to threats of nuclear war to a trade dispute that is rattling one of the region's most enduring military alliances, North Asia has been one of the hottest stories in the world.

We're seeking an experienced editor on our North Asia Government team to help drive coverage of the region, including North Korea, South Korea and Japan. You'll help guide reporters to break news on Kim Jong Un's global outreach, President Moon Jae-in's bid for an historic peace and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's effort to stay in power through the 2020 Olympics. The position will be based in either Seoul or Tokyo.

Who are we looking for?

You will be a self-starter with a track record of finding compelling ways to explain issues to a global audience through business, economics, markets and geopolitics. You can deliver on memorable, project-based features and graphics.
You will be a strong writer who thrives under deadline pressure. You will be a team player who can collaborate with regional managers and bureau chiefs, as well as more than 150 government reporters and editors covering all centers of political power across the globe.

You have experience covering Japan and Korea, working with a diverse group of journalists and juggling several things at once. You're curious, passionate and strive for excellence in your work. Japanese and/or Korean language skills are preferred.

You actively promote stories on social media and feel comfortable contributing to all of Bloomberg's platforms, including television, radio, TicToc and more.

You need to have:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Ability to work in a real-time news environment and apply swift news judgment
• Proven career in business or political journalism
• Track record of finding scoops and breaking news
• Excellent editing skills and experience executing on feature stories
• A solid grasp of the intersection between business and politics
