We are looking for a highly motivated research associate to join our team focusing on the Technology sector. You'll conducting analysis on a periodic and topical basis and authoring investment research on companies You will be entrusted to deliver high quality and timely content while also growing our data offering.

You would be part of this growing team and responsible for supporting research analysts in the Technology sector generating insights, constructing data analysis, and conducting investment research with a focus on technology hardware. This includes supporting the senior analyst to perform high level equity analysis across companies and industries as well as specific technology sector and market analysis. This analysis will be based on external and internal Bloomberg data sets, such as financial data and detailed industry data, as well as company filings, excel models and news releases and presentations.

We'll trust you to:

• Leverage your knowledge of Asia technology market to actively create industry and company investment research on a regular basis
• Actively contribute to the team’s daily research activities (i.e. data, written research, idea generation)
• Monitor, interpret and react to major company developments, and identify macro themes and trends affecting global supply chains and industries under your coverage.
• Manage earnings cycle, including previews and reviews
• Work closely with the senior analyst, our global team of Bloomberg Intelligence analysts and strategists to coordinate and collaborate on analysis.
• Develop and maintain relationships with investors, industry and market professionals, investor relations personnel, and senior management at target companies
• Participate and initiate marketing events like seminars, webinars, roundtables and conferences to commercialize research ideas
• Work with Global Data teams to ensure data completeness and quality control for existing and new data sets of target companies
• Review submitted research for adherence to global quality standards
• Work closely with our regional analysts and our team of analysts located in Asia, Europe and the U.S.

You need to have:

• At least 2 years of equity research experience and preferably specializing in the technology sector
• Graduated with a Bachelor's degree, preferably with a concentration in Finance, with an understanding of concepts, practices and procedures of finance/accounting
• Experience interpreting financial statements, financial modelling and performing quantitative financial analysis
• Strong organization skills, and capable of prioritizing multiple projects
• Attention to detail, proven research and analytical skills with excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Japanese
• Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organisation

We’d love to see:

• CFA, Master's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, MBA, or technology-related field is a plus
• Solid understanding of Financial Macro Development and knowledge of Python, SQL or VBA
• Previous work experience with the Bloomberg Terminal, let us know what your favorite functions are!
