The Sales Associate – Japan will be a key team member within the media sales team based in Japan for Bloomberg Media.  This Sales Associate will work closely with our two senior Sales Directors and also act as a point of contact for our various sales enablement teams in Japan but also across the APAC region including Client Marketing, Data Science & Insights, Planning & Campaign Management and Client Solutions.  The Sales Associate will also assist with sales conversations in Japan across key established and growth verticals, focused beyond media sales at a full range of services from strategy to creative, content, communications and in-market activations. Based out of the Bloomberg Tokyo Office, the Sales Associate will help our senior sales directors to nurture and grow the Bloomberg share of business from existing relationships and assist in strategies to develop new business within the markets.

We will trust you to:

  • Work cross-functionally with our sales enablement teams to act as a key provider of support on pre-sales and post-sales campaign, client and project management
  • Aid in the management of relationships and sales activity with clients / agencies, particularly as it relates to translating email and other communication between Japanese and English
  • Assist with the creation and translation of sales pitches and proposals in order to support the sales team to deliver the sales revenue target set for Japan
  • Support the team to identity prospects within Japan to develop new business relationships and opportunities
  • Develop trusted relationships with clients and agency contacts and to maximise revenue opportunities and position Bloomberg as preferred advertising partner
  • Engage with colleagues in international offices to exchange ideas, share information and update account information
  • Help the team to provide regular sales updates and forecasts on current revenue and sales pipeline - using Media Cloud on a daily basis as a CRM tool
  • Work as a team to develop new ideas for revenue growth opportunities and uncover market intelligence across the region for Bloomberg Media sales and stakeholders

You’ll need to have:

  • 3+ years sales support or project management experience, ideally in print/digital/TV/social/event
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Japanese
  • Experience in liaising with, and managing, media agencies and clients would be a welcome bonus
  • Experience in developing sales proposals and other marketing collateral in both English and Japanese
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness and proven experience managing multiple assignments under various deadlines
  • Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organisation

  • Ability to effectively multi task and strategise to support multiple stakeholders and projects
  • Great communication skills in Japanese, a pro-active and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Collaboration mindset and being able to work well in teams across borders
