Our Team

Bloomberg Global Facilities Infrastructure Department is seeking a Critical Infrastructure MEP Engineer based within the America’s Infrastructure Team to support critical infrastructure systems across the region.

What’s the Role:

The Critical Infrastructure MEP Engineer will support the critical infrastructure systems within the data centers, node sites and corporate offices. This is a hands on role for a highly technical and experienced engineer. Responsibilities include systems design, project management, commissioning oversight, administration of maintenance and operations, and oversight of building systems repair as it pertains to Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection / Life Safety Systems.

You will be responsible for the coordination and support of routine maintenance and emergency service on critical infrastructure and facilities equipment. Coordination with internal collaborators, supporting organizational change and ticketing systems. You will support vendor management including staffing, training, development and risk management. You will support Operational Expenditures (OPEX) projects and both assisting and completing Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) projects. The individual will also provide onsite attendance as required for planned and emergency events supporting these Facilities.

The role is for an individual contributor who is committed to continuous improvement, consistent development and has a willingness to travel within the America’s region to support business initiatives.

You’ll Need to Have:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or closely related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in Critical Facilities and environments.
  • Experience with the operation and maintenance of Critical Infrastructure and Systems.
  • Experience with Project Management of Critical Infrastructure and Systems upgrades, replacements and repairs.
  • Experience with the design of MEP systems including engineering calculations and specifications.
  • Experience within a critical environment including Utility Systems, UPS Systems, Emergency Generator Systems, Electrical Distribution, Chilled Water Systems, Critical Air Handling / Conditioning Systems, Pre-Action Systems and Fire Alarm / Protection Systems.
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems and Operations.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) Systems and Processes.
  • Experience and knowledge with documentation techniques including Method of Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, Root Cause Analysis and Organizational Change.
  • Experience with vendor management including training programs and overall staff development
  • Experience with site safety and environmental compliance.
  • Experience and knowledge coordinating and supporting Operational Expenditures (OPEX) and Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) projects in critical environments.
  • Experience coordinating and leading Ticketing and Reporting Systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and technical writing skills.
  • Excellent presentation preparation and delivery skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel.
  • On-call 24x7 for incident management and emergency response.

We’d Love to See:

  • Proficiency and understanding of Information Technology (IT) Systems including telecom networks, switches, routers, servers, storage, cabling systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of building communication protocols, IP Address and configuration in critical environments.
  • Sustainability / LEED experience
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD
