We help government affairs professionals track public policy through a suite of customize-able tools. Our team analyzes and tracks all federal legislation and regulation, from introduction in a committee markup to the finalization of an any new regulation. Relying on ground breaking technology and a dynamic team of analysts, the Government Affairs Data team curates and maintains the data required for clients to understand and stay up to date with everything on Capitol Hill. And that's where you fit in.
What's the role?
As a key member of BGOV's team of talented analysts you will monitor developments on the U.S. House and Senate floors and in committee markups. You will have responsibility providing timely updates on amendment texts and vote results, as well as supplying context to help users understand the actions. You will be an integral part of our collaborative team and there are opportunities to work alongside BGov editorial team and the business team to develop the future growth of the product as well as test and roll-out code changes with our programmers.

What do I need to apply?:
- BS/BA or equivalent work experience
- 1 to 3 years of experience working in or with Congress; ideally you will have legislative, lobbying or reporting experience
- Ability to work quickly and independently with a high degree of accuracy
- Detailed knowledge of U.S. legislative process and familiarity with legislative language
- In-depth understanding of rules and procedures of the U.S. House and Senate
- Strong communication skills
- Keen attention to detail
We'd love to see:
- Experience with web-based content management systems
- Knowledge of SQL or other database formats
