The Bloomberg Washington bureau is seeking several reporters to join our Politics Team and cover the 2020 presidential race. The ideal individual for this role is a high-energy news-breaker, someone who lives to scoop the competition, even in the clubby confines of the presidential media pack.

Working on tight deadlines is a must. Ability to land high-level conceptual scoops and craft enterprise and explanatory stories a major plus. Prior experience covering Washington and/or a national campaign is highly preferred but not required. You must have a competitive spirit, a collaborative attitude and boundless energy. The job will entail frequent travel.

You need to have:

• At least 3 years of experience at a sizable print or online outfit
• Proven ability to build sources quickly and work closely with editors to bring reporting to life in high--impact stories
• Ability to travel nationally, often for long stretches and sometimes on short notice
• Ability to illuminate complex trade, financial, budgetary and other policy issues on the fly while keeping "horse race" politics coverage to a minimum
