Bloomberg News is seeking an experienced reporter to join its European Economy team in Zurich

You’ll follow the Swiss National Bank and chronicle the economy of one of the world’s richest countries. You'll also be tasked with contributing to wider coverage of Switzerland and to help cover the broader European economy and policy-making.

In addition to boasting an appetite for breaking news and displaying a sense of urgency, the successful candidate would have the ability to look beyond the immediate headlines and write sweeping analysis and rich enterprise about underlying shifts and trends shaping the country and region.

Ideally, you're a well-connected reporter with excellent writing skills and an eye for a good story. You should be comfortable moving quickly between breaking news, producing quick-turn pieces on the news cycle as well as longer-form enterprise and investigative features across a variety of platforms.

You'll need to have:

• A minimum of three years reporting experience, preferably on economics
• Ability to write quickly and concisely on deadline
• Fluency in English and German and ideally a sound knowledge of French
• Excellent news judgement and a talent for looking beyond the obvious story
• Knowledge to be able to translate complex economic topics into compelling tales
• A willingness to work well within a team and with others across the newsroom and platforms
